A 630kVA transformer has successfully arrived in Mauritania
Project File
Equipment Model: 630kVA 15/0.4kV Three-phase Oil-immersed Distribution Transformer (All-copper Windings)
Application Scenario: A feed processing plant in Mauritania
Cooperation Mode: Replacement of old equipment + Installation guidance

Project Background
Mauritania, a country in the Horn of West Africa, relies on imports for over 80% of its food. The client's family-run feed mill supplies 30% of the poultry and livestock feed to the Nouakchott area, with a daily capacity of 120 tons. However, the core power supply equipment in the plant—a 15/0.4kV, 500kVA old oil-immersed transformer—has been running continuously for nearly 10 years.
Three major pain points reported by the client:
* Frequent tripping: Voltage drops suddenly during peak hours (when the crusher and mixer start simultaneously), triggering transformer overload alarms and forcing production shutdowns.
* Oil deterioration: Chromatographic analysis of the insulating oil shows acetylene content exceeding the standard by 3 times, posing a risk of internal arc discharge.
* Low energy efficiency: Measured no-load losses exceed 1100W, far exceeding national standards, resulting in an additional monthly electricity cost of approximately 120,000 Ouguiya.
"It's like a time bomb. We know it has to be replaced, but European brands are too expensive, and local secondhand equipment offers no guarantee." —Feedback from the client's factory electrical supervisor.
Why a 630kVA 15/0.4kV all-copper oil-immersed transformer?
Upon receiving the inquiry, the TSTY technical team retrieved the customer's electricity bills and load curves from the past 12 months and found: Peak load has reached 480kW (the original 500kVA transformer was operating at 96% load). A new extruded feed production line is planned for the next two years. The plant's power supply voltage is stable at 15kV (the voltage level of the Mauritanian power grid mains).
